There are many important qualities that are recognized in successful corporations. The trait that separates the truly great corporations from the rest is vision. With a dream to develop Berkshire Capital into one of the top lenders in the country, Griffen Hock is committed to make his vision a reality.
Hock realizes that the future of the Berkshire Capital is through originating secure, highly personalized mortgages online for our clients. The focal point of Hock's strategy is to capitalize on the current opportunities technology is making available to streamline the mortgage process along with providing an uncomplicated, unforgettable, positive mortgage experience for our client. When asked what has been the secret to Berkshire's success Hock explains "Our goal has always been to meet and exceed expectations, to be sure that Berkshire Capital is the first company that comes to mind when the subject of mortgages comes up. Our business thrives on referrals, with the client walking away 100% satisfied with their experience they will be more likely to tell their friends, family and neighbors about us".
Hock's experience in financial services began his sophomore year in college as an intern at Merrill Lynch. After one year of employment he was promoted to the director of interns, which involved the training and management of new interns under the guidance of accomplished Financial Consultants Keith Azar and Mick Glaser. This experience was important to Hock's understanding of managing different personalities as well as understanding what it takes to become a top producing sales professional. After his first year working full time in the mortgage business, Hock ranked in the top five out of 30 mortgage bankers with approximately $212,000 in loan proceeds, with the four other top performers having a combined 25 years in mortgage experience. That year Hock was also honored as the 1999 Rookie of the Year and CO-founded the Michigan State University internship program. The next step in developing Berkshire Capital would be to accept a job originating mortgages with a larger, nationwide lender where there were more opportunities to develop his sphere of influence with other lenders across the country. While there Hock ranked consistently among the top three producing bankers in profitability for the Detroit office, a consistent top five ranked office out of 400 nationwide branches.
Griffen Hock also dedicates his personal time to several charitable causes and is a proud supporter of The Habitat for Humanity, A Change for Hope and the Fight against Breast and Colon Cancer.
A graduate of the Michigan State University Eli Broad College of Business and founding member of the E-Business Communication Association (eBCA), a global organization comprised of corporate executives charged with defining and driving e-business initiatives, Hock believes that the road to future success in banking will be paved by creating a hybrid of the predominantly paper based mortgage process with the technological advances allowing us to provide as efficient and uncomplicated of an online mortgage origination experience as possible for our clients. Keep an eye out for Berkshire Capital to continue building on previous successes and further establish itself as one of the largest, most efficient independent direct mortgage lenders in the country.
